Overview
The Chateau Chateau on the Park hotel, a 4 star accommodation, offers
pleasant stay at a reasonable price. The rooms are well-appointed, clean,
the service prompt and the food quite delicious. The guests are greeted with
a small fruit plate on arrival. The hotel itself has the flavor of an aging
grand dame dating back to her 'glory days' in the 1970-80's. But the beauty
of her gardens and the graceful and warm behavious of her staff keeps her on
the Christchurch tourist map. If you come through the Hadley Park side from
the city centre, expect a 20-30 min walk through the park or a 5 minute
drive around to arrive in Cathedral Square. Hotel shuttle service is
frequent and free.
