Literature



Many foreign poets and writers flourished during the Jagiellonian rule in Poland. Notable amongst them included Conrad Celtis and Filippo Buonaccorsi. There were other famous writers including Mikolaj Rej and Jan Kochanowski who were immensely talented and got fame for their contributions towards the advancement of the Polish language. The literature of Poland in early times was mostly influenced by the Latin language. Some of the famous works attributed to the rich Polish literature includes: The Chronicle of Janko of Czarnkow, Holy Cross Sermons, Gallus Anonymus and Queen Zofia's Bible. Poland had to suffer a lot during the second world war when its young poets like Krzyszt of Kamil Baczy ski died. However, the great nation of Poland was able to come out of those sad times and present to the world some of its outstanding literature works.
