Polish National Bank is the central bank of Poland. There are other

Poland. Major credit cards are are accepted in Polish banks. Banks are in
your service from Monday to Friday (average 9.00 to 17.00), and some of them
on Saturdays (till 13.00). ATMs are easily available. Especially in cities
like Kraków, Warsaw, Lodz, Wroclaw etc. While you are on a trip to
the mountains or the lake districts in the outskirts of Poland remember to
carry some cash with you.
Debit and Credit Cards
All the major debit and credit cards are widely accepted in Poland like
other European countries. All major restaurants, luxury hotels and travel
agencies accept credit cards. Generally, major credit cards like Acces/
Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, JCB are accepted
widely. The most popular card in Poland is Visa. Credit cards are accepted
more in big tourist towns than in the smaller towns or in the country. Many
local shops and small restaurants do not accept credit cards. So its
recommended that you have some cash with you at least equivalent to $50. It
is prescribed not to keep your money at one place. Store it in some discreet
pockets and purses.
Travelers Cheque
Travelers cheques are in circulation more in cities than rural areas. Euro
cheques can be cashed in all banks and in most hotels and many banks now
cash American Express and Visa traveler's checks. To avoid additional
exchange rate charges, travellers are advised to take traveller's cheques in
