Poland Visa & Passport

Like all countries Poland also has rules & regulations concerning visa and passport. Citizens from European Monetary Union countries do not require visa to visit Poland. Citizens from Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Irish Republic, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom do not require any visa to visit Poland for travel or business purpose. But the period has been limited for 90 days.

Citizens from other countries, not listed above, require proper valid visa for their visit to Poland. For visitors' visa, you must go to Polish diplomatic outposts before arriving in Poland. For visa a foriegner needs to visit nearest Polish counsular unit abroad. You need to tell your personal details, purpose of the visit and you have to declare your time of stay in the country. Visa requirements vary depending on the country you are based. Please contact the nearest Polish diplomatic mission to check if you need a visa. Visa is issued by an embassy.


Passport Information
A valid passport is required to get to Poland. Check the validity of your passport before leaving for Poland. Passport must be valid for at least 3 months from the date you arrive in Poland. Americans should ensure that their passports are date-stamped upon entry. Sometimes Polish Immigration office can ask you to provide proof of sufficient funds to meet your travel expenses. The general rule says that it should be 100 Zlotys per day.

Tourists can bring some duty free items. Import of certain weapons, animals(pets), plants, drugs(narcotics), explosives, poisons and radioactive materials is strictly prohibited. Foreign currency can be carried without any limitation but upon arrival in the country it should be declared before the custom officers. General Tips for Travelers
Make sure to always carry some cash with you as credit cards are not accepted in the rural areas. Banks close relatively early in the afternoon. Do not change your money on the streets as you can be cheated. Make sure to exchnge money from authorised excange offices or banks. Do carry your passport with you all the time during your visit as you may face problems without passport. Ï Usually Poland is a safe country for visitors but be ware of pick pockets while you are traveling by public transport. Ï Don't get dressed like a tourist. Try to blend with the Polish natives. Ï Kindly follow the speed limit while driving your own vehicle in Poland. Spped limit is 50km/h in built up areas, 110km/h on express ways and 130 km/h on the motor ways.
