The
Wilanow Palace

Wilanow Palace is one of the most valuable monuments from the Polish
Baroque period. It's a royal summer residence, which is located at the
end of the Royal Route and was built for Jan Sobieski (r. 1674-96) one
of the most handsome monarch in Poland. The palace is an excellent
testament of Poland's royal architecture that makes the palace worth
visiting. This royal structure belonged to many Polish noble families
over the centuries, including the Sienawskis, Czartoryskis, Lubomirskis,
Potockis and Branickis. Wilanow Palace is one of the finest tourist
attractions to be visited while on the tour to Poland.
Watch the splendid art work inside the palace, including paintings by
some of the biggest names in European art, from Jean-Louis David to
Bernardo Bellotto. Other major attractions of the palace is the
enriching park - 300 years old that surrounds the palace dividing into a
variety of sections. This Park has a nature's wonder, thanks to its
natural lake and stream and its man-made pond. Also visit the famous
Gallery of Polish Portrait inside the Wilanow palace, suites of kings
and queens still furnished with same royal furniture. Not to be missed
are Crimson Room, The Queen's Antechamber, The King's Antechamber, The
King's Bedroom, The King's Library, The Palace Chapel, Lapidarium famous
for its antique items.
