Prices of most products in Singapore include a 3% Goods and Services Tax (GST). Visitors who spend more than SGD 300 at retail shops can obtain a tax refund through the GST Tourist Tax Refund Scheme. Just look out for the TAX FREE SHOPPING sticker to find out which are the participating outlets.

Obtain a Global Refund Cheque from the retailer when you make your purchase. Refund cheques are issued for purchases of SGD 100 and above. To qualify for a GST refund, you need to spend at least SGD 300. This amount can be accumulated from different shops. Validate your cheques at customs counters located before and after "Immigration" at Changi Airport. Remember to attach your purchases and receipts together with your cheques.
Claim your GST refunds in cash, credit card payments or bank cheques at the Global Refund counters just beside "Customs" and after "Immigration". A handling fee will be charged for refund services.
Basic requirements to for GST :
You are not a Singapore Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
You have not exercised employment in Singapore at any time during the past 6 months.
You are leaving by air through Changi International Airport or Seletar Airport, and are not a member of the cabin or flight crew.
You have spent less than 365 days in Singapore in the 2 years before the date of purchase.
Basic Information for Global Refund Cheques :
Collect a minimum of S$300 in total value of Global Refund Cheques to qualify for GST refund from Global Refund.
You can accumulate Global Refund Cheques from different shops eg. 3 Global Refund Cheques of S$100 each issued by 3 different shops.
Present the completed Global Refund Cheques along with the purchased items and your passport for inspection by Customs before departing the airport. Upon successful inspection, Customs will validate the Global Refund Cheques.
